The McCarthy auditorium is used for plays and films, the latter generally run in blocks in the winter, spring and autumn. Seats around 150 in superb authentic recreation of 1930s cinema, though with modern technology. Second-run house with diverse selection of films, many of which are not otherwise shown in Scarborough. Hosts the annual Silent Film Festival each September/October.
